José Ferreira is one of the most naturally talented Portuguese surfers of his generation. Any surf session he takes part in is a lesson on style and flow. He’s a 3x junior champion and has represented the Portuguese national team in the ISA Championships more times than he could count with all his fingers. Following the routine of a true athlete (two daily doses of surfing and gym), he is one of the leading names amongst the so called Lusitanian Army, the growing group of Portuguese surfers who are seeking access to the world surfing elite on the WQS. The greatest achievement of his career came in 2014, when he placed 9th on a Prime event at his hometown (Cascais). Out of the water, you will most likely find him playing electronic music as a guest DJ on some friend’s party or having a set of sushi all by himself. Jose rides Chilli Surfboards.
