Chilli Surfboards 50-50 technology now available

22-05-2018

A Chilli Surfboards exclusive, the 50-50 technology combines a lightweight EPS core with high grade fibreglass cloth, carbon fibre frame and Epoxy resin.

This unique technology is now available for Chilli custom orders with direct and low-cost shipping across Europe.

Main Features

 1. INNEGRA FIBRE | FLEX ASSIST

Combining the elements of Innegra S fibre (the white lines on your board) with Chilli's double twisted weave fibreglass, we strategically glass 14 strands of Innegra running parallel up your board. These fibres provide a controlled strength and flex allowing the board to be stronger and perform better without becoming too stiff.

 2. THE LINE | CHILLI SIGNATURE

Aesthetics mixed with function, this black coloured strand of fibre is woven into Chilli's own double twisted weave fibreglass. The unique weave and direct sized fibre gives you a stronger layer of glass and the authentic Chilli certification.

 3. CARBON FIBER FRAME | STABILITY

A parabolic carbon frame on the deck and liner carbon stringers on the bottom is designed to provide a controlled flex pattern. The familiar flex of the liner carbon stringers allows you to generate speed while the parabolic frame on the deck controls twisting through the front two thirds of the surfboard. With a highly responsive feel, this layout allows you to generate speed and drive with ease.

 4. EPS FOAM | STABILITY

Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) foam is a version of polystyrene foam. EPS is typically the lightest of the three foams used in surfboard construction, resulting in a much lighter board and translating to increased buoyancy and floatation. Basically the lowest density or lightest board will float you the best! The advantage of better buoyancy is added paddling speed and increased manoeuvrability allowing you to ride a smaller board. EPS foam core is also less likely to deteriorate over time!

 5. CARBON TAIL PATCH | STRENGTH & STABILITY

Progressive Carbon Tail Patch adds strength to the tail end of these boards. A common weak spot known as 'tail cancer' is prevented by having this around the tail. It's designed so the carbon progresses to be strongest down at the very tail tip. Not only does it protect but also helps flex out the tail when driving through turns and release off the top.
